Choose Air Caraïbes for your travels!

You travel with Air Caraïbes for the warm welcome of its staff, the quality of its service and the comfort on board. But you could just as easily choose us for our long-haul fleet, most of which is made up of Airbus A350 XWBs enabling us to modernize to meet environmental expectations. Air travel takes on a whole new meaning with us!

Air Caraïbes works for innovative travel!

Our fleet is undoubtedly the most visible element of our commitment. Our aim is to focus our efforts on reducing our impact on the environment wherever possible. For your flight, we have studied the elements and materials used for on-board service too.
Another example that illustrates the importance we attach to the environment: our long-haul flight crews have undergone training to adopt new piloting procedures.

Green Pilot

Worldwide certification

Air Caraïbes and its sister airline French bee are the first airlines in the world to be certified Green Pilot® for their commitment to a more sustainable policy.

What is Green Pilot® certification?

  • Green Pilot® is a collective movement of airline industry professionals concerned about climate change and committed to promoting actions that reduce aviation's impact on the environment.
  • Green Pilot® certification was created in response to the growing demand from airline executives to assess, support and improve their energy efficiency programs.
  • This demanding certification assesses the quality of the environmental policy implemented within a company's flight operations, and the commitment of employees to this strategy.
  • A thorough and transparent review of the company is carried out in all these areas of expertise.
  • As part of the program, once the airline is certified, educational material is passed on to employees to raise awareness of fuel-saving best practices and of course further reduce CO² emissions.

For our company, this is recognition on the development of our operations and in the active commitment of our long-haul pilots to a policy aimed at reducing our environmental impact.

Green Team

An internal commitment

A team dedicated to actions aimed at reducing the environmental footprint has been formed within Air Caraïbes and French bee: the Green Team. Made up of qualified professionals (long-haul pilots, engineers, operations control center agents), the Green Team's mission is to identify and implement new practices that will reduce the carbon footprint by optimizing fuel consumption during flight and on the ground. These various levers and the initiatives taken by the Group have resulted in fuel savings of 693 tonnes in 2022 compared with 2021:

  • Application of best practices: acceleration and retraction of flaps at lower altitudes when terrain permits, continuous descent on landing, moderate use of thrust reversers on landing...
  • Application of new measures: reduction of water and fuel packages to adapt them to actual consumption, optimization of approaches on arrival at Orly...
