The guide dogs can be transported either in the cabin (muzzled) or in the hold.

In the cabin: Extra Seat for bulky baggage, maximum weight per seat is 75 kg (on transatlantic flights only).

Conditions of carriage of baggage in the cabin

Since November 6, 2006, the following are prohibited (with the exception of products purchased duty-free):

Liquids, aerosols, gels and pasty substances: mineral water, perfumes, drinks, lotions, creams, shower gels, shampoos, mascara, soups, syrups, toothpaste, liquid soaps, deodorants.

You must, at security checks, present separately in a closed transparent plastic bag measuring approximately 20 cm by 20 cm, your bottles and tubes of up to 100 ml each.

In order not to slow down security procedures and to avoid the risk of having your products confiscated before boarding, it is important that you read this information.

What you need to know

Which flights are affected?
All flights departing from airports in the European Union (as well as Norway, Iceland and Switzerland) whatever their destination, including domestic flights, and whatever the nationality of the airline.

Connecting passengers

  • If your first flight comes from a European Union country and your second flight departs from a European airport (as well as Norway, Iceland and Switzerland): You can make purchases in-flight or in airport stores. These will then be secured in a sealed plastic bag.
  • If you have a later connection in a country outside the European Union: You must check with the airline beforehand for any restrictions that may be imposed.
  • If your first flight arrives from a non-European country and your second flight departs from a European airport (as well as Norway, Iceland or Switzerland): We advise you, before departure, to place all your liquids in your hold baggage, including those purchased in airport stores outside the European Union; otherwise they will be confiscated at the security checkpoint when you connect, with the exception of those held in the transparent plastic bag closed by about 20 cm. Liquids: mineral water, perfumes, drinks, lotions, creams, shower gels, shampoos, mascara, soups, syrups, toothpaste, liquid soaps, deodorants...

What is the maximum size of each bottle or tube you can take in the cabin?
No bottle may exceed 100 ml.

What is the maximum size of the plastic bag?
This transparent plastic bag (freezer bag type) must measure approximately 20 cm by 20 cm. One bag can hold several items, tubes, bottles, aerosols.

How to get this plastic bag?
You can get this plastic bag (freezer bag type) in shops and supermarkets. Most European airports will also have bags available on site. However, this is a service provided to passengers and not an obligation, so there is no guarantee that these bags will be available everywhere and all the time.

We advise you to make your arrangements before departure.

What exceptions are allowed?
Liquid medications. You may take liquid medication (insulin, syrups, etc.) in the cabin, provided you present security officers with a certificate or prescription in your name. There are no restrictions on solid medications (tablets and capsules).

Liquid baby food. There are no restrictions on these products. Remember to take resealable containers: you may indeed be asked to taste these foods!

As a general rule, put all your liquids in your hold luggage, except for products absolutely essential during the flight.

If you're traveling without hold baggage and only with carry-on baggage, you'll need to place your liquids in a freezer bag-type plastic bag measuring approximately 20 cm x 20 cm.

Before your departure, be sure to consult the list of prohibited items.

Unaccompanied baggage - FREIGHT

Unaccompanied baggage must be deposited several hours before departure, or even the day before, in the freight area, except for home pick-ups.

A transport file will then be drawn up by our correspondents comprising several important documents:

  • Air waybill (AWB number in "923 - xxxx xxxx" format): This is the contract of carriage with the airline on the front (see conditions on the back: verso). This number will be requested on arrival to collect the goods.
  • The declaration of value signed by the custodian or invoice for new goods.

Our correspondent will indicate the expected delivery time according to availability. Please note, however, that this is only an indicative timeframe: in application of aviation security regulations, the dispatch of a shipment may be delayed (e.g. if the groupage presents opaque zones during its X-ray passage). We therefore advise you to check with the Freight Department at destination that shipments have been properly received before the person receiving the shipment moves.

On arrival, the freight will be stored in a warehouse awaiting pick-up or delivery. Beware of storage charges in some destinations if your customer doesn't pick up his shipment beyond 2 or 3 days after arrival!

Acceptance conditions

  • Packaging

Packages are handled many times during transport, so it's very important to ensure that each of your shipments has sufficiently strong and sturdy packaging to prevent damage.

If your shipments require specific packaging, don't hesitate to ask our correspondents for advice, whose contacts can be found in the "FREIGHT" tab.

The declaration of contents enables the company to identify sensitive packages and take the necessary care with them, so please remember to draw up an exhaustive list of your products so that temperature or handling precautions can be taken (fruit and vegetables, fish, glass bottles, etc.).)

Due to the need for customs visits, our correspondents must be able to access the contents of your shipments (leave a duplicate key if locked).

  • Insurance

Please note that you can also take out ad valorem insurance for the freight transport of your unaccompanied baggage (invoice required). For shipments with a high market value, there are specific conditions of carriage - please enquire in advance (e.g.: works of art, etc.).

  • Hidden dangerous goods

Please note that aviation regulations are complex and extremely strict, so don't hesitate to ask us about any conditions of acceptance (quantity limitations/ documents required/packaging..).

Examples of dangerous goods: aerosols, perfumes, highly alcoholic beverages, corrosive or flammable liquids, batteries, fireworks, lighter refills, camping stove bottles, gas cylinders, etc.

The passenger is responsible for the contents of his or her baggage. The carriage of baggage which does not belong to the passenger and which he/she has accepted from any other person is strictly forbidden.
In the event that the passenger declares that he/she is no longer the owner of his/her baggage, the company reserves the right to refuse carriage (in accordance with the general conditions of carriage and the conditions inherent in his/her ticket) and to take legal action against him/her.

The Passenger may be asked to attend the inspection of his/her Baggage (delayed, checked or unchecked) at the request of customs or any other government authority.
The Carrier shall not be held liable for any damage or loss suffered by the Passenger on this occasion, in particular if the Passenger refuses to attend the inspection of his/her Baggage.
