Wellness at altitude
Some tips recommended by Dr. M.Clerel, Air Caraïbes consulting physician.
Good hydration
Drink enough water regularly to avoid any risk of dehydration, renal colic and concentration of your blood mass.
Beware of alcohol!
Avoid alcohol, which is dehydrating and triples its effects at altitude. Mixing alcohol and medication is not recommended.
"Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Drink in moderation."
A little exercise
To activate your blood circulation, don't hesitate to move around, stretch and do a few exercises, respecting the passengers next to you and if cabin crew allow.
Good sleep
You'll have an eye mask, blanket and earplugs on board. Avoid sleeping curled up.
Travel comfortably
Wear loose-fitting, lightweight clothing. Loosen your laces or take off your shoes to avoid swelling of your feet. Wear compression stockings or socks, especially if you have a history of phlebitis, varicose veins...
Prefer your prescription glasses to contact lenses.
Handling jet lag
Set your watch to the time of your place of arrival as soon as you get on board and adapt your rhythm to this new time (sleep and meal times).
