Travel formalities Applicable to minor passengers
Any child under the age of 12, or 14 depending on the destination, must be accompanied by an adult of at least 18 years old (with the exception of the mother, father, or legal guardian).
For flights to or from the French overseas departments (DOM), minors may travel unaccompanied from the age of 12. UM service is mandatory for children between 4 and 11 years old. DOWNLOADABLE FORMS

The child and the accompanying adult must travel in the same transport cabin.

When booking, select 'Children (2 to 11 years)' in the 'Passengers' section. Complete the online form by entering the child’s personal details in the 'Unaccompanied Minor' section, along with details of the accompanying persons at departure and arrival.
UM reservations are only possible on direct flights.

Any minor (under 18) traveling abroad* alone or with a third party (or a parent with a different surname) must have the following documents :
- A valid passport in the child's name, along with any required visa, depending on the destination
- A photocopy of the passport of the parent or legal guardian who has signed

Conditions according to the age of the minor
Baby (up to 2 years of age)
An infant is any child who has not yet reached their second birthday at the start of the journey.
- If the child is under 2 years old for both the outbound and return journeys, the infant fare applies to both.
- If the child turns two during the trip, the infant fare (-2 years) applies to the outbound journey, and the child fare (2 to 12 years) applies to the return journey.
Reserve a bassinet for your baby
Bassinet reservations cannot be made online. Please contact our reservation center or visit a sales outlet.
Bassinet reservations can only be made up to 48 hours before departure.
"Only babies under 6 months, weighing less than 10 kg, and/or shorter than 70 cm can be placed in a bassinet. Beyond this, they must be held on the lap of the accompanying adult.
Please note: For safety reasons, comfort equipment that allows children to sleep lying down (such as suitcases convertible into a cot or inflatable mattresses placed in front of the seat) is not permitted in the cabin on Air Caraïbes flights.
Required Formalities
Only one baby per accompanying adult aged 18 or over (exceptions are made for the mother, father, or legal guardian).
An adult may not travel with two babies, to comply with safety regulations.
- Bassinet reservations can only be made up to 48 hours before departure.
- The baby must have a ticket but will not be assigned a seat.
- ID is required for the baby
- The adult accompanying the baby must be assigned a seat at the time of booking. They must be seated :
- In wall-mounted seats: opposite the bassinet.
- Only one baby is allowed per seat block (except for parents with twins), and not in emergency exit rows.
For safety reasons, babies over 6 months (or over 10 kg or over 70 cm) must be seated on the lap of their accompanying adult.
Babies or children (between 2 and under 4 years of age)
They must be accompanied by their parents (father, mother, legal guardian) or entrusted to an accompanying person.
An accompanying person is defined as:
- Any passenger at least 18 years old, designated by the parent.
- If the accompanying person is not the one with parental authority, the parents (father, mother, or legal guardian) must release the company from all liability, and the accompanying person must sign a statement of responsibility.
Required formalities
Pushchairs and car seats must be checked in and protected by a plastic bag (subject to excess baggage fees for children).
ID is required
A ticket is required for the child.
UM (unaccompanied minors aged 4 to 11 inclusive)
Conditions for accepting of UMs (Unaccompanied Minors)
A UM is a minor child aged 4 to 11 years, traveling alone,
- At departure: An Air Caraïbes agent will accompany the UM from the check-in area to the aircraft door, where they will be entrusted to a flight attendant.
- Special attention will be given to them on board.
- Upon arrival: The cabin crew will hand over the UM to a ground agent, who will escort them to the arrival hall, where they will be entrusted to the designated person responsible for receiving them.

Required formalities
- Ticket: The UM must have a valid ticket.
- Reservation class: UM ticket reservations are only allowed in Soleil class and are subject to quotas
- Baggage allowance: UMs are entitled to one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 23 kg.
- UMs must be able to carry their own cabin baggage (otherwise it will be checked in at the applicable rate).
- Departure attendant: The person accompanying the UM must stay at the airport until the aircraft has taken off.
- Identification: the accompanying person's ID will be required on departure, and that of the waiting person on arrival. Their name, address and telephone number must be included in the UM reservation file.
Restrictions
- Excluded destinations: UMs are not permitted on flights to or from Port-au-Prince (Haiti) or San Salvador (Bahamas).
- Pets: UMs are not allowed to travel with pets, whether in the cabin or the hold.
- TGV (Train + Air): UMs are not eligible for the TGV Air service.
- Direct flights only: UM service is available only on our direct flights, with the exception of regional flights between Fort de France, Pointe-à-Pitre, and Saint Martin Grand Case (round trip).
- Shoes: UMs must wear well-fitting shoes. For safety reasons, flip-flops, clogs, and similar types of footwear are strongly discouraged.
UMZZ (Unaccompanied minors aged 12 to 16 inclusive)
A UMZZ is a passenger traveling alone, aged 12 to 16 years (inclusive).
An Air Caraïbes agent will accompany the UMZZ from the airport to the aircraft, and upon arrival, will escort them to the designated person responsible for picking them up. Special care will also be provided on board.
Please note: UMZZ ticket reservations are subject to specific pricing and quotas.
Required formalities
- The UMZZ must have a valid ticket.
- UMZZ ticket bookings can only be made in Soleil class.
- Checked baggage allowance: depends on the fare selected.
- UMZZs are not allowed to be accompanied by animals (either in the cabin or in the hold).
- UMZZs are not eligible for the TGV Air service. UMZZs are also not permitted on flights to or from Port-au-Prince (Haiti) or San Salvador (Bahamas).
- UMZZ reservations are only possible on our direct flights.
- UMZZ reservations are only available on Air Caraïbes flights (excluding French bee code-share flights) and are not available for connecting flights.
- For safety reasons, UMZZs must wear well-fitting shoes. Flip-flops, clogs, and similar types of footwear are strongly discouraged.
Formalities for foreign minors (under 18) in France.
Any person with foreign or dual nationality on French territory must comply exclusively with French law.
- If traveling with a third party: a valid CNI or passport is required.
- If traveling with a parent with a different surname: a valid CNI or passport is required.
In all cases, parents will have to prove parentage.
