European nationals
For European nationals, entry requirements to Aruba are fairly straightforward and convenient. European Union citizens do not need a visa for a tourist stay of less than 30 days. However, on arrival they must present a passport valid for the entire duration of their stay. A return or onward ticket is also required. The authorities also require proof of sufficient financial resources to cover the duration of the stay, as well as proof of accommodation booking, whether in the form of a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from a resident of Aruba.
It is also recommended to take out travel insurance including medical cover. To avoid any inconvenience, always check the latest information and requirements with the Aruban embassy or consulate before traveling.
International nationals
Aruban entry requirements for international nationals vary depending on the country of origin. In general, visitors are required to present a passport valid for at least six months beyond the planned date of departure. If their country of origin is not visa-exempt, they will need to obtain a tourist visa before departure. The list of visa-exempt countries is available on the official Aruban government website.
In addition, travelers must have a return or onward ticket. They must also provide proof of sufficient financial resources to cover their stay, as well as proof of accommodation reservations, in the form of a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from a local resident.
Nationals from certain countries may be subject to specific health requirements such as yellow fever vaccination or additional checks. For maximum peace of mind, we recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover medical expenses. Before planning your trip, always check the latest information with the Aruban embassy or consulate to make sure you meet all the necessary requirements.
Health
For a healthy stay in Aruba, take a few precautions. Drink bottled water to avoid waterborne diseases. Protect yourself from the intense sun by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen, wearing a hat and light clothing. Hydrate regularly, especially during outdoor activities. Use mosquito repellents, especially at dusk. Pack a first-aid kit with medicines for headaches, pain and gastrointestinal disorders. Finally, eat well-cooked food and wash fruit and vegetables thoroughly before eating.
Safety
To ensure your safety in Aruba, follow these recommendations. Keep your valuables safe and do not leave them visible in your car or on the beach. Be vigilant in tourist areas where pickpockets may be active. Avoid traveling alone at night in isolated or poorly-lit areas. Use cab or VTC services for late-night journeys. Follow beach safety instructions, especially warnings about strong currents. In case of emergency, dial 911 to contact local emergency services. Enjoy your stay in Aruba safely by following these tips.
For a week's stay in Aruba, accommodation options vary according to your budget. For a budget trip, consider staying in youth hostels or budget hotels, with rates ranging from €60 to €100 per night, or around €420 to €700 for the week. For a medium budget, choose three-star hotels or comfortable Airbnb rentals, with rates from €150 to €250 per night, or around €1050 to €1750 for the week. For a luxurious stay, opt for five-star hotels or all-inclusive resorts, with rates of €350 to €600 per night, or around €2450 to €4200 for the week.
Transportation in Aruba also depends on your budget. For an economical trip, use local buses and shared cabs, with a budget of around 50 to 100 EUR for the week.
